Anti Ragging Orientation Programme

The inauguration of Anti- ragging orientation programme conducted by the Anti-ragging Cell of Govt. College for Women, Thiruvananthapuram was held on 12 August 2024, at 2 pm in the Seminar Hall in association with the NSS and NCC of the College. As part of this, various programmes were held from 12 August to 18 August 2024. Every year, educational institutions engage the Anti- ragging awareness week. The objective of this programme was to create a ragging free environment inside the campus for its smooth functioning throughout the year. Our respected Principal Smt. Anila J. S., District Crime Branch S I, Renjith G. K., teaching and nonteaching staffs, students, NSS and NCC volunteers attended the inaugural function. This programme was jointly organized by 75 th Azadi Ka Amrith Mahotsav, Centre for Youth, UGC and Ministry of Higher Education. The programme began with a prayer song followed by the welcome address delivered by Asst. Prof. Deepu S, Department of History. Smt. Anila J. S., Principal delivered the Presidential address and enlightened the audience on the various aspects of this orientation programme. District Crime Branch SI Renjith. G. K., inaugurated the programme, delivered the keynote speech and presented the definitive reasons for the formation of the Anti- ragging cell in educational institutions, its legal aspects and other related situations which comes under judiciary. Felicitations followed – that by the IQAC coordinator, Prof. Dr. Godwin S. K. and Dr. Shyama (NSS PO). Dr. Sjithra C. V., delivered the vote of thanks. Various online and offline competitions were organised as part of this programme. Altogether this programme was a great success in creating awareness in the minds of students.
